The new Schoolcraft elementary school project, with Triangle Associates Inc as the Construction Manager and TMP Architecture as the Architect, is a full new construction project. The subcontractor scopes included are: Site/Building; Earthwork/Utilities; Asphalt Paving; Concrete; Concrete Polishing; Fencing; Landscaping/Irrigation; Masonry; Structural/Misc. Steel; General Trades; Metal Wall Panels; Roofing; Aluminum, Glass & Glazing; Drywall & Interior Trades; Flooring; Terrazzo (as Alternate); Wood Flooring; Painting & Wallcovering; Lockers; Food Service Equipment; Athletic & Gym Equipment; Bleachers; Elevators; Fire Protection; Plumbing; HVAC; Testing & Balancing; Low Voltage Cabling; Electrical; and Tennis Court Surfacing.
The project bid in late June and Builders Exchange of Michigan has reported on the project since late 2019. The new elementary building was part of Schoolcraft Community School’s 2020 bond proposal. The $39,900,000 proposal, originally failed to pass on the November 2019 ballot, but was passed during the March 2020 special bond election. This bond was reported in the 2020 Spring Bond Issue of The Source magazine.
The new construction of the PreK– 6th-grade building also features breakout spaces, a gym, cafeteria, playgrounds, and energy-efficient heating/ air conditioning.
