Phase two of the Bissell Test Lab Expansion project includes work for all bid categories, including concrete, masonry, general trades, painting, flooring, fire suppression, plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and electrical.
The space includes 3 claims labs, a packaging lab, and an expansion of the existing model shop workspace. The walls will be constructed with masonry and metal studs/drywall with various openings for doors, overhead doors, and windows.
Fishbeck acted as both the architect and construction manager on both phases of the expansion. The first phase, which was bid in April 2021, included room for 44 test benches, 2 forced failure labs, and a break room. The walls will be constructed with masonry and metal studs/drywall with various openings for doors and windows. There is also a small mezzanine area above the forced failure labs that will house the HVAC and electrical equipment.
