NEW COLLEGE OF MEDICINE BUILDING / Project ID 2024-1FD6

Fundraising is underway for the $100 million college of medicine. Structural designs will be presented to the board in the spring with opening slated for fall 2028. The four-story, 100,000 square foot building will house a variety of classrooms and auditoriums, as well as the university’s basic science research facilities and laboratories.

 

MANUFACTURING AND WAREHOUSE FACILITY / Project ID 2022-2167

Builders Exchange has been reporting on this project since 2022. The project is anticipated to bid in December. Phase 1 will be the construction of an approximately 100,300 square foot facility including 12,400 square feet of one and two-story office space.  Subject to the success of the first phase, a second phase would be an 85,000 square foot addition to increase capacity.

 

 REDEVELOPMENT OF A BUILDING FOR A MIXED-USE HOTEL / Project ID 2024-2312

This $12 million development will include an estimated 45 – 50 boutique hotel rooms. The rooms will be designed to accommodate 4 – 6 visitors, with the average unit being roughly two to three times the size of a traditional hotel room. Plans will also include 2 – 3 small-scale retail units for hotel visitors, such as a small spa space, bar and/or food services, and spaces for meetings and special events. Bidding to trade contractors is slated for December.

 

LARGE SCALE SENIOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENT / Project ID 2024-24F6

Groundbreaking on this $48 million development is planned for early spring or early summer with completion by September of 2026. There will be a total of 128 units across two buildings. Planned amenities will include themed dining, walking and fitness pathways, a pickle ball and lawn gaming area, an outdoor fire pit patio with seating, raised and walking gardens, a community events center, a senior training and fitness center and more.

 

NEW TOWNSHIP HALL AND POLICE DEPARTMENT/ Project ID 2024-25F6

The building will be comprised of 17,000 square feet dedicated to the township hall and 60,000 square feet dedicated to the police department. This $50 million project is scheduled to break ground during the fall of 2025.

 

MASSIVE SCALE MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT INCLUDING 3 HIGH RISE TOWERS / Project ID’s 2024-272F, 2024-272F-A, 2024-272F-B

This massive scale development is estimated at $738 million. The mixed-use development will consist of 3 main parts in 3 high rise towers which shall include ground floor retail and restaurants: apartments and condos; a hotel; and an office tower. Construction is slated to start in the fall of 2025 and they are targeting completion in the fall of 2028 or spring of 2029.

 

NEW FIRE STATION / Project ID 2024-261D

The new $8 million, approximately 19,000 square foot fire station will provide adequate training and living space for firefighters, public meeting and emergency shelter areas, and ADA-compliant and energy-efficient features. The training room/community meeting space will accommodate up to 175-200 people with overflow meeting space for the township hall or to shelter residents during emergencies. Bidding is slated for March of 2025 with construction to begin in April and proceed through June of 2026.

 

EXPANSION OF A MUSEUM CENTER / Project ID 2021-1E7D

There is no architect or construction management firm contracted yet for this $30 million project. The current museum is 22,760 square feet, and the expansion is planned to add an additional 12,000 square feet of storage space. Also planned is a new museum and exhibit space that will be built next door and will be connected to the existing museum building. Builders Exchange has been reporting on this project since 2021.
