EKHS Math Wing Renovation

Apr 7, 2021 | Member Project Spotlight

In April 2020, construction began at East Kentwood High School (EKHS).  The Fritz Wahlfield Construction team faced some challenges while working on a K-12 school project during the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis. Even through the rising material costs, navigating new safety protocols, and ensuring social distancing practices, the team came together and completed the project by August 2020.

Many aspects of the 25,000 square foot space were under renovation. Fritz Wahlfield Construction gave the EKHS Math Wing all-new interior walls, casework, ceilings, flooring, learning furniture (tables/chairs), light fixtures, air purification systems, and painting.

During construction, Fritz Wahlfield Construction worked to ensure the project was on budget and stayed on schedule noting that many companies went above and beyond to help complete the renovation. These companies included: Burgess Concrete, Burggrabe Masonry, Nugent Builders, River City Flooring, Schepers Brothers Co, Painting Plus, River City Mechanical, and Circuit Electric.

Fritz Wahlfield Construction helped give a much-needed update to Kentwood Public School’s East Kentwood High School by providing a refreshed learning space for the high school’s math program.

This project has since been archived by the Builders Exchange of Michigan, but it was first reported in mid-January of 2020, with a bid date in early February of 2020. Over 300 members viewed this project.
