Originally planned as a remodel of an existing building, the Van Buren Downtown Development Authority 2016 Place Making Project turned into a demolition and newly constructed building after a lengthy design phase. Axiom Construction Services Group LLC, in collaboration with Wakely & Associates Architects, planned and prepared this project to give the owner the best value possible.
“Axiom CSG, LLC always takes a hands-on approach by treating each project as if Axiom CSG, LLC is the owner.”
Construction began in June 2018 on the 10,000 square foot project. This included the new construction of Downtown Development Authority offices and complex, service garage, and the park and gardens with a public function gathering building. Axiom CSG, LLC performed this in a single phase with all buildings constructed concurrently.
While working through the new construction, Michigan experienced one of the rainiest spring seasons to date, which caused the Axiom CSG, LLC team to work nights and weekends to make up for over 160 rain day delays. The $3,000,000 project was still completed within the adjusted expectations of the DDA.
Axiom CSG, LLC was an integral part in explaining each component to the owner to help them understand and make the best informed decisions about the project. “Axiom CSG, LLC always takes a hands-on approach by treating each project as if Axiom is the owner,” said Deib Mougrabi, Axiom CSG, LLC Director of Field Operations. “Working with Van Buren Township DDA was an honor and a pleasure. It was a great experience and we hope that the completed project brings greater use to the community and the DDA.”
